Every year the Maryland, Virginia and West Virginia Veterinary Medical Associations sponsor the Virginia Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine Mentor program. This is a two-day event where veterinarians meet with current veterinary students to provide insight.
Dr. Hummel is an active mentor and is able to share about his experience with internships, residency and specialty practice. He currently has four mentees from the classes of 2018, 2020 and 2021. Dr. Hummel enjoys being able to give back to the veterinary school, catch up with former professors and stay current on the veterinary curriculum. Dr. Hummel and his wife, Katie, say they love the opportunity to visit Blacksburg in the fall as well!
